About Us
Standard of Athletics, a non-profit 501 (c) 3, is the best youth sports league in San Antonio! Currently offering youth sports leagues along with developmental camps and clinics, Standard of Athletics hopes to offer a variety of other sports programs in the future. “Our goal is to offer a quality, comprehensive, and competitive environment to our athletes by incorporating team building, instruction, agility training, nutrition and citizenship into all of our programs,” says Tony Warren, founder and executive director of Standard of Athletics.
Standard of Athletics is a part of Stone Oak Athletics which was founded in 2008. After about 16 seasons in the Stone Oak Area we realized that we were just getting started. Spring of 2012 Standard of Athletics South was born, soon to be followed by Standard of Athletics Austin, and a year later Standard of Athletics West and Standard of Athletics Soccer! Our job has only just begun- Standard of Athletics (SOA) has plans to impact all regions of San Antonio, and then dominate the Texas state!
SOA provides a highly competitive yet nurturing environment, offering Beginner and Advanced Divisions in most of our age groups. We believe that Team sports are a fun, competitive outlet than can strengthen children's abilities and even creatively disguise some physical activity- but they are about so much more than winning and losing! Team sports have the power to boost self esteem, and inspire healthier eating habits not just with players but with their families. Children learn important life skills such as patience, persistence, hard work, and the ability to respond positively to setbacks and failures. Children learn respect, not only for their Coach’s, Teammates and Parents, but for themselves and their abilities. We believe in sports, and believe that every child should play and redefine their own standard of athletics!
SOA takes our community efforts seriously. We offer scholarships throughout San Antonio for athletes who are approved for assistance through their district. The organization has already distributed over 600 scholarships since 2009 to deserving athletes who are now enjoying their time learning the sport, participating and positively utilizing their time after school and on the weekends.
SOA fully recognizes the importance of working with others within our community. Our website contains information, advertisements and useful links for many of our local businesses. If you would like to support SOA’s community efforts but just don’t have the time to commit, we also accept monetary or in-kind donations, with 100% of all funds received going towards programming and community events to enrich children’s lives. And remember, all donations are tax deductible. Thank you to everyone for your support.

Programs
SUMMER and AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS
During our summer and after school programs, children receive a well-rounded suite of instruction to include academic curriculum training, life skills instructions such as culinary arts, computer training, and dj/music production workshops, and a healthy dose of physical training. This teaches the children the importance of team building, leadership, and character development.
YOUTH SPORTS
SOA Basketball and Volleyball has quickly become the premier league throughout San Antonio. Our leagues run year round in three different areas of San Antonio. SOA Cheer runs in conjunction with our Basketball season in each league as the girls will cheer during our basketball games. SOA soccer runs in the Fall and Spring in both the North and South areas of San Antonio. Visit our "YOUTH SPORTS" page for more information.
CLINICS
Each season we provide opportunities for our athletes to develop their skills in a group setting outside of practice. We bring in professionals to work with the children and provide a unique opportunity to improve their skills. Previous clinics included George Gervin, SA Scorpions, UTSA cheerleaders, and the San Antonio Stars.
