SOCCER  INFORMATION
Our soccer league is designed to develop fundamental soccer skills while learning teamwork, strategy, and sportsmanship. Athletes will learn basic strategies and rules of the game, and skills including shooting, passing, and dribbling. Soccer provides unique health benefits such as increased flexibility, cardiovascular capability, and endurance. We are committed to developing the athlete as a whole, increasing self-confidence, balance, and social skills.
  • Divisions Offered Are: 8U, 10U, and 12U
  • AGE CUT OFF DATE IS SEPTEMBER 1ST OF THE CURRENT SCHOOL YEAR
  • Games are played on Saturday and Sunday
  • Registration Fee  includes:
    • 6 season games
    • ​A minimum of 1 game to be played in the End of season, single-elimination tournament (week 8 of the season)
    • ​1 hour practice at a site each week
    • A durable and reversible game jersey
    • Opportunities to participate in clinics, tournaments, camps, and other SOA events 
  • SOA upholds a ZERO TOLERANCE policy for derogatory or vulgar language of any kind
  • Parents, Players and Coaches agree to uphold the SOA Code of Conduct at all times during practices and games; no warning will be given to offenders and offenders will be removed from the facility

Smoking is not permitted on any SOA facility

Applicable To All Ages
  • Team composition: co-ed
  • Team with possession of the ball can substitute during a throw-in
  • Both teams can substitute prior to a goal kick, after a goal by either team, at half-time, or after an injury when the referee stops play
  • All players must play at least half of first half
  •  Slide tackling is not permitted
  • Only league-issued or pre-authorized uniforms are allowed during a match
  • If a player is out of uniform, the opposing team receives one penalty kick for each player that is out of uniform
  • 6U players will be able to shoot on an open goal 5 yards away
  • All players must wear shin guards -- no players will be allowed to play without shin guards
  • Hard casts, whether padded or not, are prohibited
  • Knee braces containing metal or plastic must be covered or padded
  • Jewelry is not allowed, including hair accessories containing metal or plastic
  • Small non-removable earrings may, at the referee's discretion, be taped
  • Head gears are not permitted
  • Plastic sports goggles are permitted
  • Baseball, football, and any cleats that contain metal or a front cleat are prohibited
  • Only registered players are allowed to play
  • Teams may not add any players after the first week
  • Game time is forfeit time, no grace period allowed
  • Any player receiving a yellow card must be removed immediately for a minimum of 2 minutes; a substitute may be inserted
  • Players receiving a red or second yellow card shall be removed for the remainder of the game
  • Parents, Coaches, and Spectators may also be cautioned and sent off the field by the referee or league director; in this case, the person ejected must leave the premises in order for the game play to resume
  • SOA will not tolerate abusive or insulting comments from spectators directed towards any of player, referee, staff or coach

8U RULES
  • Number of Field players is 5, no keeper
  • Maximum roster size is 8
  • Field size(in yards): 20 x 30
  • Goal size (in feet): 6 X 4
  • Ball size is 3
  • Game length is 4- 8 minute quarters
  • Only indirect kicks are to be awarded for all fouls (i.e. no direct kicks or penalty kicks)
  • A second chance will be given on improper throw-ins
  • All fouls shall be explained non-judgmentally to the offending player
  • Offsides is not to be strictly enforced, although blatant offsides ("cherry picking") should be explained to the offending player and discouraged
  • One (1) coach is permitted on the field during game for guidance

10U RULES
  • Number of Field players is 5
  • Maximum roster size is 10
  • Field size(in yards):25 x 35
  • Goal size (in feet): minimum: 6 x 4
  • Ball size is 3
  • Game length is 4- 10 minute quarters
  • Only indirect kicks are to be awarded for all fouls (i.e. no direct kicks or penalty kicks)
  • A second chance will be given on improper throw-ins
  • All fouls shall be explained non-judgmentally to the offending player
  • Offsides is not to be strictly enforced, although blatant offsides ("cherry picking") should be explained to the offending player and discouraged
  • Coaches must remain off of the field
 
 12U RULES

  • Number of Field players is 5
  • Maximum roster size is 10
  • Field size(in yards):minimum: 45 x 65
  • Goal size (in feet): 6 X 12
  • Ball size is 4
  • Game length is 4- 10 minute quarters
  • Only two time-outs allowed per team
  • Offsides shall be enforced
  • No second chance is given on improper throw-ins
  • Coaches must remain off of the field
